DCI: Central Police OCS Is The Prime Suspect In Ojwang Death

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has made a shocking revelation, naming Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Samson Taalam of Central Police Station, Nairobi, as the prime suspect in the ongoing probe into the death of social media influencer Albert Omondi Ojwang.

Appearing before the Senate on Wednesday, DCI boss Mohamed Amin disclosed that preliminary investigations show OCS Taalam declined to book Ojwang when he arrived at the station, raising serious red flags about his conduct and accountability.

“It is being said that he declined to book the suspect,” Amin told senators, adding that “from the totality of things, Taalam should be treated as the prime suspect.”

Ojwang’s mysterious death has ignited national outcry, with disturbing reports indicating he was picked from his Homa Bay home Friday afternoon and only booked into Nairobi’s Central Police Station over 32 hours later — already bleeding and with visible injuries.

Amin clarified Ojwang was first recorded at Mawego Police Station in Homa Bay on Saturday at 4:00 pm before being transported directly to Central Police via a DCI vehicle.

GPS data confirms the movement of the car, which reportedly made a stopover in Narok where Ojwang was “given refreshments,” according to the DCI.

Although the DCI dismissed claims of torture, witnesses claim the late blogger arrived in poor condition, and the word “sick” was recorded beside his name.

Ojwang was later declared dead on arrival at Mbagathi Hospital at 1:39 am.
