DCI Arrests Four University Students In Violent Nairobi Gang

The suspect led the officers to three of his accomplices, all of whom are freshmen staying at Kwa Benson apartments in Juja's Container neighborhood.

Detectives are questioning four university students suspected of being part of a gang responsible for violent robberies in Ruai, Juja, Kayole, and neighboring locations.

This comes after an undercover squad of police officers from Makadara, Ruai, Embakasi, and Kayole detained a 19-year-old Kenyatta University student in a combined operation last evening, on intelligence reports that he was part of a deadly criminal gang.

The suspect led the officers to three of his accomplices, all of whom are freshmen staying at Kwa Benson apartments in Juja’s Container neighborhood.

Richard Lankisa, 18, Brian Kituku, 19, and Emmanuel Nyangwencha, 18, were arrested during the operation while studying Development Studies at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

This comes after a comprehensive investigation of their single room yielded the recovery of an imitation glock pistol, eight used 919mm special cartridges, one empty pistol magazine, one white plastic face mask, and two laptop computers thought to be stolen goods, among other items.

The site was investigated by crime scene detectives from DCI Thika, and the suspects were transported to Juja police station for additional questioning and arraignment in court.
