A gunfight between police on patrol and two city criminals intimidating members of the public along Adams Arcade Ngong Road ended in fatalities.

DCI sleuths were tipped off after a sudden struggle between two young males and members of the public drew their attention.

As officers arrived on the scene, the two gun-toting males jumped on the bike and raced away, setting up a high-speed chase and a violent exchange of fire.

The officers pursued the fleeing duo as they approached Dagoretti Corner on the wrong side of the road, eventually cornering them at the Riara-Naivasha Rd intersection.

The two miscreants tried in vain to flee, violating surrender orders, after realizing that their fastest escape route had hit a cul-de-sac.

They were killed in the shootout, and a pistol, three cellphones, and a Rolex wristwatch were seized from them.

Efforts are being made to locate the victims of the violent robbery so that their possessions can be returned after legal procedures are completed.
