Security has been beefed up at Bomas of Kenya, Nairobi where a new party- Democratic Action Party-Kenya will be launched.
The party is associated with Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa.
Officials say the party plans to field candidates for all positions except the presidential race in next year’s polls.
The outfit, whose symbol is a leopard will among others ratify its Constitution, consider and adopt National Executive Council and National Governing Council resolutions.
The party will also receive defectors from Ford-Kenya led by Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyiyi and former Secretary General Eseli Simiyu.
Veteran politician Noah Wekesa is also expected at the event.
