Deputies in Central Florida have suspect in custody following multiple deadly shootings

Authorities in Orange County have a person in custody following multiple shootings that occurred on Wednesday.

The suspect, 19-year-old Keith Melvin Moses, has been taken into custody. Authorities believe he is responsible for each of the shootings.

Deputies were initially investigating after a woman in her 20s was shot and killed Wednesday morning on the 6100 block of Hialeah Street in Pine Hills, just outside of Orlando.

It has since been revealed by police that Moses and this victim were acquaintances.

At approximately 4:05 p.m., local news crews were at the scene and a gunman opened fire on an unmarked news vehicle, according to deputies.

Two people were inside, a reporter and a photographer with Spectrum News 13. Both were shot and rushed to a nearby hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Deputies said the suspect then ran to a nearby home and opened fire on a mother and her 9-year-old daughter. The child was killed in the shooting and her mother is listed in critical condition.

It is unclear why the suspect went into that home, according to deputies.

Moses has been formally charged for the murder of the woman in her 20s, authorities said, adding that its expected that he’ll be charged with the two additional shootings. He has an extensive violent criminal history and was armed with a handgun when he was taken into custody, according to Orange County Sheriff John Mina.
