Detectives, Family In Search Of Missing GSU Officer

A police officer assigned to the General Service Unit (GSU) headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi, has gone missing.

Corporal Joseph Otieno was last seen on Friday, July 9.

Caroline Odhiambo, Corporal Joseph Otieno’s wife, filed a missing persons report at Kasarani Police Station in Nairobi on Sunday, July 11.

Caroline claimed she last spoke to her 36-year-old husband at 11:13 p.m. on the day he vanished.
In Mwiki, Kasarani, a car allegedly hired by the cop was discovered abandoned.

Crime scene investigators began forensic examination on the vehicle right away, looking for evidence in the case’s fingerprints and DNA leads.

To execute a search and rescue operation, a multi-agency team comprised of detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the GSU was organized.

A notice was sent to all Nairobi police stations, instructing officers to keep a watch on the situation and offer assistance as needed.

The report of the missing cop comes amid an uptick in kidnapping instances across the country.
