DIG Lagat Opens Two New Police Posts in Kasarani to Boost Security

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Kenya Police Service), Mr. Eliud Lagat, on Wednesday, officially commissioned the newly constructed Ng’undu and Kamunyonge Police Posts in Nairobi’s Kasarani Constituency, a significant step toward enhancing community security.

The DIG was received by Nairobi Regional Police Commander, Mr. George Sedah, and inspected the modern facilities, which were fully funded by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) under Kasarani.

Addressing officers and residents at the launch, Mr. Lagat conveyed greetings from the Inspector General of Police and lauded Kasarani MP Hon. Captain Ronald Karauri and the NG-CDF committee for their commitment to improving security infrastructure.

“These facilities will enhance security operations and support socio-economic development,” he said.

He announced that officers would be deployed to the new posts immediately and praised the area for its relatively low crime rate.

However, he urged officers to remain vigilant, with a particular focus on tackling land-related fraud.

DIG Lagat also commended Equity Group Foundation for furnishing the facilities through a public-private partnership, emphasizing the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in improving national security.

Hon. Karauri thanked the DIG for officiating the event and reiterated his commitment to supporting police operations in Kasarani.

The event was attended by senior security officials including Kamulu Deputy County Commissioner Mr. George Kamweru, KPS Directors Mr. Peter Ndungu and Mr. Adamson Bungei, APS Commander Ms. Tabitha Muriithi, and Equity Foundation’s Director of Advocacy Hon. Kinoti Boniface.
