The Director of Bidsworth Auto-Rent Company located in Nairobi, was today arraigned in court and charged with obtaining Ksh 30 M, allegedly using fraudulent tricks.
The director, Keeru Ngugi Mucheru, is accused of obtaining the said money in February 2023.
The prosecution alleged that he defrauded Ng’enda Location Ranching Company the money by falsely pretending that he would invest in his company and give Ng’enda Location a monthly interest of 15%.
He was also charged with fraudulently obtaining Ksh 1M from Winnie Adoyo Ong’ondo by falsely pretending that he would invest the money and give her 15% monthly interest.
The alleged fraudster faced another charge of obtaining Ksh 2.95M from other unsuspecting victims using similar tricks.
Further, the prosecution alleged that in March and April 2023, the suspect fraudulently obtained Ksh 1.9M from two other victims pretending he would invest the money in his company and give them monthly interest of 15%.
Appearing before Magistrate Robinson Ondieki, the suspect denied the charges and was detained in police cells awaiting bail and bond determination.
