Mchele Man Accused Of Drugging, Robbing A Githurai Reveller

A man suspected to have drugged and robbed a man at DJ Club Kimbo Junction along Thika Road has been arraigned in court.

Ibrahim Mwangi Kiria who is believed to be part of a stupefying syndicate operating along Thika Road was charged with stealing Ksh 1,154,081.

He was also charged with stealing two mobile phones valued at Ksh 155,000.

Further, he was accused of administering a stupefying drug to Paul Maingo on Mach 20,2023 with intention of stealing from him.

In another count, he was charged with engaging in Organized crime.

“You are charged that on the night between 20th and 21st March 2023 at DJ Club Kimbo Junction along Thika road in Kiambu County, acted in concert with others in the commission of a serious offence for the purpose of obtaining financial benefit” reads the charge sheet.

The complainant in the matters informed the DCI that went to the club on the night of March 20th. He was joined at his drinking table by some ladies and gentlemen who requested to share the table.

However, he woke up on March 21 at 8:00 am only to find himself in the passenger seat of his car.

He then called for help and was taken to Bellevue South Hospital where he was treated and placed for 12 hours of observation. He was later discharged after fully regaining consciousness.

After regaining conscious, he discovered that his two phones, two debit cards for ABSA accounts, wristwatch and his National ID were missing.

He alerted his bank and the bank discovered that there were a series of withdrawals from both accounts amounting to Ksh 1,154,081.

Further, the suspects withdrew Ksh 19,000 from his Mpesa account and took Ksh 15,000 from his wallet.

The suspects were later arrested in possession of National IDs belonging to other persons and several sim cards.

The case will be mentioned on April 19, 2023 for bail determination.
