Do what Gen Zs want, not dialogue – Governor Kahiga to Ruto

Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has urged President William Ruto to remove cabinet secretaries whom Generation Z has demanded be ousted to put the country on the right track.

Kahiga says that Ruto’s political future and the nation’s well-being is at stake as he attributed his current predicament to poor advice from his advisors

He stressed the need for Ruto to protect his political standing by making wise decisions following careful introspection.

“The Gen Zs have made demands, you engaged them and they told you what they wanted, none of their demands was for you to put up 150 teams to negotiate. They have told you what they want and what not to,” he said.

Governor Kahiga said that if the Gen Zs have requested the cabinet to be dissolved, the President should listen to them.

“If they say you sack the cabinet, do it because there are 50 million Kenyans who can fit in those offices but if you continue with that kind of talk and kind of moving away from reality, it will hit us hard and as a country, we will lose it all,” he said.

The governor alleged that some of Ruto’s advisers are misleading him from doing the right thing. Kahiga said that the President’s promises can’t be achieved in such kind an atmosphere.

“Bring in your advisers and ask yourself if the country is moving in the right direction, if you are convinced it is moving in the right direction, let’s move on the way you are moving but if you are convinced there is a reason to change I humbly request you as a man of God to relook at the way this country is going, refocus,” he added.

He also urged him to sit down with his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, call his advisors and listen to them before taking action.

“We have your deputy in the name of Rigathi Gachagua who was elected on 9th august and went through the process for his office we ask your Mr. president to let him be and allow him to do what he was elected to do,” said Kahiga.
