The Salesians of Don Bosco Kenya will launch its Integral Ecology Plan 2026-2030 on October 9 at Don Bosco Church Hall in Upperhill.
The event, running from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., invites stakeholders to network and explore the plan’s six strategic pillars: Energy Management, Carbon Management, Water Management, Waste Management, Sustainable Agriculture, and Ecological Conversion.
Rooted in the Catholic tradition of stewardship, this initiative echoes Pope Francis’ groundbreaking 2015 encyclical Laudato Si’, which frames environmental degradation as a moral crisis disproportionately burdening the poor.
Don Bosco Kenya, part of the global Salesian network serving over 15,000 vulnerable youth annually through education and vocational training, positions the plan as a faith-driven response to Kenya’s escalating climate threats; droughts, floods, and biodiversity loss that exacerbate poverty in marginalized communities.
