Donald Glover Reveals He Suffered a Stroke

Glover recounted that he experienced a "really bad pain" in his head while in Louisiana but performed anyway. His vision deteriorated, prompting a visit to a hospital in Houston

Donald Glover disclosed during a live performance Saturday that a serious health issue he described last year as an “ailment” was, in fact, a stroke. The 42-year-old artist shared the news with the audience at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles.

Glover recounted that he experienced a “really bad pain” in his head while in Louisiana but performed anyway. His vision deteriorated, prompting a visit to a hospital in Houston. “The doctor was like, ‘You had a stroke,'” Glover told the crowd.

The medical crisis led to the discovery of a hole in his heart, requiring two surgeries. Reflecting on the experience, Glover shared a poignant realization: “They say everybody has two lives and the second life starts when you realize you have one.”

His remarks, which were widely shared on social media, provide a sobering explanation for the tour cancellation and underscore the serious health challenges he has faced.
