DP Gachagua Launches Maiden Mombasa – Dubai Flight

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua launched the inaugural flight from Mombasa to Dubai on Thursday night, marking a significant milestone for the country’s aviation industry.

The new flight route, which is being operated by Kenya Airways, is expected to boost tourism in Mombasa and the surrounding regions by attracting more international visitors.

It will also provide a convenient and efficient means of transportation for business travelers and individuals looking to connect to other destinations in the Middle East and beyond.

Speaking at the launch event, DP Gachagua praised the efforts of Kenya Airways and emphasized the importance of the new route in boosting economic development in the region.

“It is a great moment for Kenya as the inaugural flight for our National Carrier, Kenya Airways, to Dubai from this great city of Mombasa takes to the skies,” Gachagua said.

“By connecting the Kenyan Coast to the Middle East directly, the travel time is effectively reduced, thereby making Kenya the most attractive destination for the Middle East holiday seekers,” he added.

KQ will operate a Boeing 737-800, four times a week.

Gachagua was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretaries for roads and transportation Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen, tourism, and wildlife Penina Malonza, as well as a number of governors from coastal regions and national political figures.
