Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua took a moment on Friday to pray for the success of President William Ruto’s economic transformation plan before attending a cabinet retreat in Nanyuki.
The DP stated on Twitter that he prayed while facing Mount Kenya on the slopes past River Rikkia.
“Facing Mount Kenya, I prayed to ‘Mwene Nyaga’ to give good health and wisdom to our Great Leader President William Ruto as he embarks on economic transformation of our nation and the restoration of the dignity of the Kenyan people,” he tweeted.
Gachagua and Ruto arrived at the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club on Thursday evening for the inaugural Cabinet and Senior Ranks of the Executive Retreat, a three-day event focused on strategizing the nation’s economic transformation.
According to Gachagua, he woke up early on Friday morning at 4 am to make the nostalgic journey to The Mountain.
“The one hour trek that included crossing River Rikkia reminded me of the great struggle for our freedom. I took time to thank God for his mercy and kindness to the people of Kenya and for giving us the freedom we are now enjoying,” he added.
The retreat is expected to provide a platform for Cabinet members and senior executives to develop innovative and effective strategies to drive the country’s economic growth.
