Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has assured governors that the national government will always disburse revenue allocations to counties within six months of the end of each financial year.
Gachagua also stated that the IBEC meeting will be mandatory for all governors to attend, unlike the previous administration, when some governors skipped due to political differences, and he urged county governments to collaborate with the national government for mutual benefits to all levels of government and the people of Kenya.
He was speaking to governors during his first IBEC meeting as deputy president.
The meeting is still going on at the Kenya School of Government.
It’s now a closed-door meeting as the media has been asked to leave the meeting.
The COG chairperson, who is also the governor of Kirinyaga, Anne Waiguru, is among the governors present.
