DP Kindiki Graces Chepsaita Cross Country At Uasin Gishu

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki is leading a delegation of senior government officials to the second edition of the Great Chepsaita Cross Country in Uasin Gishu County.

Kindiki is accompanied by Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii, his Egeyo Marakwet colleague Wisely Rotich, and Fernandes Barasa from Kakamega.

PSs Raymond Omollo, Peter Tum, and Julius Bitok are among the over 15 MPs in attendance.

Races that are part of the event have kicked off and security is tight with over 2,000 police officers deployed to guard the venue.

Runners from over 15 nations are taking part in the race that has attracted over 10,000 athletes which has been rated at Gold Level by the World Athletics.

Patron of the race Farouk Kibet who is also President William Ruto’s aide is also present.

“We are pleased that the events are so far going on well and the weather is quite good,” said Kibet.
