DP Ruto: Coalition With Raila Odinga Is Useless

Deputy President William Ruto has indicated that he will not collaborate with Raila Odinga, the leader of the ODM party, before the 2022 elections.

The interview took place in Karen, Kenya, at DP Ruto’s official residence.

Ruto spoke about the upcoming general elections in 2022, stating that he was looking forward to a robust election.

When asked if he was interested in collaborating with ODM leader Raila Odinga ahead of the polls, Ruto said he was not.

“How can we work together? While he is saying change the constitution to have tribal kings in government, I am saying that we should help the hustlers. He is talking of trickle-down, I am talking of bottom-up. We cannot work together clearly, we are competitors.”

He further stated that he was his competitor and there was no reason or benefit on working together.

‘Wewe Nyoks unanisumbua sasa, Mambo ya running mate ikifika nitawaambia wakenya, kwa sasa wacha kunisumbua,’ Ruto stated.

He mentioned his blocked trip to Uganda was an example as to how government officials are out to undermine him.

“For four years, people have been saying things to me. Oh, I don’t know Ruto is competing with the President, I don’t know he has disrespected the President… All these things I have denied. Even that Wilson issue is to put me in a position to argue with them. I have left them to God,” he stated.
