Deputy President William Ruto has promised to increase police officer salaries if he wins the general election on August 9.
Speaking at Gachororo in Juja on Sunday, the DP stated that the Kenya Kwanza administration will overhaul the Kenya Police Service within 100 days and restore officers’ dignity.
According to the DP, under Kenya Kwanza, the police will be professional and will not be used for politics, but rather to ensure everyone’s safety.
Earlier, the DP attended a church service at Joy Christ in Juja Kiambu county with his Kenya Kwanza allies, including running mate Rigathi Gachagua, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, and Speaker JB Muturi.
DP Ruto said during a series of Sunday rallies that followed the church service that his government would set aside Ksh.200 billion to boost industrialization in order to combat Kenya’s alarming unemployment.
Ruto also slammed his opponents, claiming they had nothing to show but handouts.
