The bloody political war in the Presidency has assumed a turn for the worse.
Deputy President William Ruto and his hustler nation have barricaded Kiambaa, considered the bedroom of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
First thing. DP Ruto is a rebel. President Kenyatta is the political tyrant who views his constitutional deputy as corrupt, incorrigible and untrustworthy.
Ruto is determined to politically revenge on his boss. He has taken his political war to the doorstep of Uhuru and GEMA. And won.
Implications: Ruto is a metre away from succeeding his boss. Infact, he has executed a peaceful coup on his boss as he slumbered in his new political house with Raila.
And the consequences are grave.
For clarity, Ruto now finds himself in the thicket of GEMA nation. He plans to extract a,running mate from here and manufacture another tyranny of numbers.
Moses Kuria has been touted. Mutahi Kagwe flattered. Irungu Kangata. Among others. All as possible DP Ruto running mates.
Uhuru has one remaining bullet to tame DP Ruto. Dissolve the cabinet and starve him of funds to operate.
Or sponsor a motion to postpone the election and hope that the Raila team gels up into a formidable outfit.
Things are bleary for Jomo’s favourite son.
