Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo sent social media into a frenzy after claiming the Kenya Film and Classification Board CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua was fired.

Through his twitter handle, Senator Kilonzo castigated ICT CS Joe Mucheru for allegedly firing the KFCB boss unceremoniously.

“Ezekiel Mutua unlawfully removed by CS Mucheru as CEO after being lawfully appointed by the Board . Laws are mere suggestions for this administration. “

However, corporate staff from the KFCB offices were quick to point out that the claim was fake.

“That communication was not official. We are also hearing this from the social media.”

Moments later, Dr. Ezekiel Mutua refuted claims that he was fired

“My attention has been drawn to reports on social media to the effect that I have been fired as CEO of KFCB. PLEASE IGNORE such malicious rumours. I am not aware of such developments and there can be no grain of truth in them as there’s no vacancy in the office of the CEO KFCB.”

The moral chief as he has been nicknamed, has been on the forefront to fight unclean content.

His efforts has made him one of the most popular parastatal CEOs despite friction with secular content creators.
