Drogba eyes Ivory Coast FA President

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, 44, wants to be the Ivory Coast football federation president.

 Drogba said that the soccer standards in his country has stagnated and he is best placed to improve it.

His country will host the 2023 African Cup of Nations finals between the months of June and July.

Ivory coast has had turmoil which has affected several sectors of economy, and the national team, popularly known as the Elephants, failed to qualify for this year’s World Cup finals set for Doha, Qatar in November.

Cameroon, another west Africa soccer giants had elected former soccer star Samwel Eto’o as the FA president.

He has since helped his country to reach to 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar where they’ve been clustered in Group ‘G’ alongside Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland.
