EACC Arrests NG-CDF Fund Manager Over Forged Academic Documents

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested Ms. Florence Njeri Njuguna, a Fund Manager at the National Government-Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) in Lari Constituency, over alleged use of forged academic documents to secure employment.

EACC investigations revealed that Ms. Njuguna presented a fake Bachelor’s degree certificate purporting to be from Moi University, along with a forged KCSE certificate from Kahuhia Girls High School.

The commission stated that she used the falsified credentials to unlawfully obtain a public service job. As a result, she received Ksh.2,229,123 in salary payments from public funds.

Following the completion of the investigation, EACC forwarded the case file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), which approved her prosecution.

Ms. Njuguna will be charged with fraudulent acquisition of public property, forgery, and uttering false documents.

She is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.

EACC emphasized that it remains committed to ensuring only qualified and ethically upright individuals serve in public institutions.

The arrest adds to growing public concern over the prevalence of fake academic credentials in government and the need for thorough vetting of civil servants.
