The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has announced the successful sale of five properties recovered from former Migori Governor Okoth Obado and former Nairobi County Treasury head Stephen Ogaga Osiro.
The assets were auctioned on October 9, 2025, following court orders in corruption-related cases.
According to a statement by the commission, the auctioned properties, located in Nairobi, are part of ten assets previously earmarked for disposal under the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Suit No. 20 of 2018 and Suit No. 10 of 2021.
The five properties fetched a total of Sh69.7 million, all sold at prices above their valuation reserves. The assets included a Riara Apartment No. FF3, a three-bedroom unit on LR 330/140 Nairobi/Block 14/247, which was sold for Sh14 million.
Two units at Greenspan Estate, both located on LR Nairobi/Block 82/8759, also went under the hammer. A three-bedroom apartment fetched Sh6.95 million, while a two-bedroom unit was sold for Sh6.75 million. Another Greenspan Estate maisonette, No. 279, was sold for Sh11 million.
The highest sale was recorded at Loresho Ridge Estate, where a townhouse on LR No. 21080/63 fetched Sh31 million.
EACC said the sale forms part of the ongoing recovery of proceeds of corruption, noting that all the properties were sold transparently and above their reserve prices. The commission reiterated its commitment to pursuing asset recovery as a key tool in the fight against corruption.
“The total amount realized from the five properties is Sh69,705,000,” the statement read. “All the properties were sold at prices above their valuation reserve prices.”
EACC has set the date for the auction of Obado’s Migori county properties for Thursday 16th October 2025.
