EACC Detectives Arrest Former Treasury CS Ukur Yatani, Marsabit Governor Mohamud Mohamed

 

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani and Marsabit Governor Mohamud Mohamed Ali.

The two are being investigated for allegedly embezzling Ksh.8 billion in county funds.

The arrest came after EACC detectives raided their homes in Nairobi and Marsabit.

 Several senior officials from the Marsabit County Government are also under investigation.

Yattani, who previously served as Marsabit County Governor, has been taken in by the EACC Integrity Centre headquarters in Nairobi.

Governor Mohamed and other county officials are moving to Nairobi.
