EACC has filed a court action to reclaim Nairobi Kadhi’s court from land grabbers.
According to court documents, embattled Former Commissioner of Lands Wilson Gachanja improperly gave the land to former Makueni MP and Agriculture Assistant Minister Peter Maundu.
Wilson Gachanja was sued in his personal capacity in the recovery suit filed on 11 May 2023 for fraud, illegality, and/or acting outside of his rights and functions.
The EACC is requesting that he be forced to pay general damages for fraud and violation of fiduciary duty.
Although the Judiciary owns and operates the Kadhi’s Court, the property is illegally owned by a private corporation that purchased it from the previous Makueni MP.
The EACC wants the illegitimate ownership to be declared null and void.
