Ederson is planning to push for a move away from Man City at the end of the season amid renewed interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Pep Guardiola would be open to the goalkeeper’s departure.
The 31-year-old’s contract at the Etihad does not expire until 2026, but speculation about his future at the club has been rife since the summer.
However, after a frustrating season in which the goalkeeper has suffered with multiple injury issues, there is a belief that the club will be open to offers.
Guardiola is said to be planning large-scale changes to his squad after a busy January transfer window, with no player’s position guaranteed as things stand.
The Brazilian goalkeeper has been the subject of interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Guardiola said at the end of last season he still regarded Ederson as his first-choice goalkeeper, even though he chose back-up Stefan Ortega for the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid.
