Editorial: Deal with 2007 violence decisively, back DCI Kinoti

DCI George Kinoti is not an insane person. He is an experienced cop with the guts of a Njuri Ncheke elder.
Kinoti, therefore cannot have reopened the 2007 violence cases without consulting his boss(bosses). Whoever that is or are.
– By Henry Kimoli.

Before Kinoti made the high profile announcement, the CS Internal Security had been indicted over the Ruaraka land scam…by a private citizen. The citizen in question is works for DP William Ruto, who Dr. Fred Matiangi has wedged political war against.

On paper, Kinoti reports to IG Hillary Mutyambai.
In reality, Kinoti reports to other powers and forces well beyond the horizon of Mutyambai.
It is these forces, shrouded around the so called deep state that logically cleared Kinoti to issue the bold statement that he was later forced to swallow.
Dennis Itumbi, the DP Ruto surrogate who seeks to jail Matiangi, has feeble muscles for the exercise.
He must be acting at the behest of DP Ruto, or the powers around him. Including, the DEEP STATE.

DCI Kinoti is a dare devil. But even Satan has limits. Kinoti cannot charge those who burned the Kiambaa Church and reduced children to ashes without clearance by the National Security Advisory Council.
Both Itumbi and Kinoti are serving the interests of other forces….propelled by a similar motive….to influence the outcome of the 2022 election.

Truth be laid bare. Eldoret North was part of the Former Wareng County Council, the present day Eldoret County.
It was the epicentre of election massacre in 2007.
DP Ruto was then the local ODM MP elect and the kingpin for Raila Odinga in the region.
To seek out the perpetrators of the heinous crime will be to open a political can of worms that the Government is procrastinating over until the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Kinoti, therefore had to become the fall guy and accept to clean up the dirt spewed by his bosses.
For this, this Meru born detective may even be sacked…or appointed the Ambasander of Ethiopia!!
So what is the stake? No one wants to deal with the PEV cases…because of fear that a fresh wave of violence will emerge.

But the issue will just not disappear. And it may as well be about time that all PEV cases are prosecuted or closed, after evidence is adduced before a court of law or an inquiry.

You cannot sanitize an illegality to the convenience of fear of the known or unknown.
If there is evidence implicating DP Ruto or any other leader to the 2007 chaos, time to act is now.
Conversely, if there is no evidence, make it public and close the debate.

Kenyans suspected all along that 2013 TNA and URP deal between Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto was a selfish union to propel them to power. Not a genuine attempt to heal political strife at the Rift Valley.
So was the deal between former Premier and Vice President Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka in the same year.

My take? Seek votes for 2022 and guillotine the pretence on justice for PEV 2007 victims.
The affected have reconciled themselves with the situation and moved on.
