Eldoret High Court has preferred a murder charge against Jacktone Odhiambo, a friend to the slain LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba.
Senior Principal Magistrate Richard Odenyo released four suspects who had been linked to the murder.
The prosecution claimed there was insufficient evidence to charge the four.
Odhiambo, Chiloba’s boyfriend, reportedly confessed to killing the fashion model on Saturday, January 7.
Chiloba, Jackton, and another unidentified man went out on December 31, 2022, to mark the New Year at Eldoret’s Tamasha nightclub.
The three had a good time but when they returned home, neighbors revealed that there was a commotion in the house.
Chiloba’s body was discovered in a metallic box and dumped in Kapsiret, Eldoret, on January 3, 2023.
The couple had been living together for a year, and according to the apartment’s caretaker.
Chiloba had spent three years alone at the house before Jackton joined him in 2022.
