Eight people have been killed after heavily armed bandits attacked a lorry along the Marsabit-Badasa road in Marsabit Central sub-county.
According to Marsabit Central Deputy county commissioner David Saruni, 11 passengers were injured in the melee.
The incident occurred about five kilometers from Marsabit town.
The injured were rushed to Marsabit referral hospital.
Police are pursuing the bandits who disappeared after the attack.
