At least eight military troops were injured on Sunday after their lorry collided with a pair of Improvised Explosive Devices in Baure, Lamu County.
According to people familiar with the event, the Kenya Defence Forces lorry was travelling along the Baure-Drum major supply route when it collided with a placed IED.
The explosion that destroyed the Kenya Army technical truck harmed the crew on board.
The device, according to police, was planted by al Shabaab terrorists operating within the vast Boni Forest.
There was no arrest made at the time. The injured were flown to a hospital.
