A 71-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison by an Eldoret court on Monday after being found guilty of defiling a two-year-old girl.
Lucas Omusule, the accused, is said to have committed the crime between May 2021 and June 4, 2022.
Four witnesses, including a doctor, testified that the minor had suffered continuous defilement, according to a statement from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The ODPP also revealed that the accused had previously been convicted and was serving a life sentence as well as a 40-year sentence for defilement offenses committed around the same time in Eldoret’s Huruma estate.
