Labour Day celebrations in President William Ruto’s backyard of Eldoret town flopped after only two people showed up.
Only the COTU North Rift representative, Peter Odima, and his deputy, Rodgers Ombati, were present.
The duo accused Uasin Gishu County leadership of failing to cooperate with the union to ensure a successful celebration.
They blamed the county government for failing to provide chairs and tents for the event, resulting in a last-minute cancellation.
“We were ready to have a successful event. The President’s speech was even sent from Nairobi. Now we will give it to the governor on Tuesday,” Odima said.
