Elect Honest Leaders – Speaker Muturi

Kenyans should vote for leaders who have integrity and can give value to their lives, rather than corrupt leaders, according to National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.

Mr. Muturi, who is running for president on the Democratic Party ticket, says the single largest threat to the country’s economy is corruption and theft of public monies.

"The people have told me that they DO NOT want handouts or Wheelbarrows, they just want a level playing field and favorable policies that will make their businesses thrive. I have heard you the people of Githunguri. We have to leave this nation in safe hands."

Speaker Muturi, speaking at Kailutha Methodist Church in Tigania East, Meru on Sunday, said that if elected, his top priority would be to restore integrity and accountability in Kenya’s governance.

He urged Kenyans to avoid presidential candidates who socialize with and walk alongside officials suspected of misappropriating public funds.

"If you walk with thieves, sleep with thieves, associate with thieves then you are a thief. We cannot expect anything better from you." Speaker Muturi said.

The National Assembly Speaker is set to compete for the top seat alongside Ruto, Musalia Mudavadi, and Kalonzo Musyoka.

Raila Odinga is yet to announce his intentions to run for the top seat.
