A tourist was trampled to death by an elephant at a national park in Uganda.
The deceased, a Saudi national, and his coworkers were going through the Murchison Falls National Park on their way to Arua city, when they stopped to relieve themselves.
The deceased, who had moved further away from the vehicle, was unable to return when a herd of elephants surged at them.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, but it was extensively publicized on Wednesday.
The incident was confirmed by park officials, who claimed that investigations were still underway.
They said that steps were being taken to prevent similar events in the future.
Animal attacks have been documented in Ugandan parks in the past.
