Police and the military are looking into the death of a 45-year-old Kenya Defence Forces man in his home in Embakasi, Nairobi, after an apparent suicide.
Colleagues of the deceased, named as David Kimaru, said that he did not return phone calls on Sunday, which was uncommon.
This encouraged them to pay a visit to his home, which is located within the Embakasi fortress.
They learned he had passed away at that point. Long after he died, his body was discovered hanging from a rope at his residence.
There was no mention of what prompted the event. Police who responded to the location believe he died the day before.
The body was transported to the morgue.
