Emirates Logistics, a prominent supply chain and logistics provider operating across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, has announced its strategic entry into Kenya.
The company plans to build a state-of-the-art logistics facility within Tatu City SEZ, Africa’s leading new city located just 30 minutes from Nairobi’s city center.
Steven van der Vliet, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Logistics, expressed pride in the expansion, stating, “This new facility at Tatu City strengthens our global presence and enhances our ability to deliver seamless, customized logistics solutions. Being positioned at Kenya’s economic hub enables us to better serve both existing and new customers in the region.”
Construction is set to commence later this year, adding to Emirates Logistics’ operations in 15 countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Ivory Coast, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Malaysia.
With over two decades of experience, the company boasts a vast network of owned warehouses, offices, and transport fleets supporting international trade.
George Kapanadze, Group CFO at Rendeavour—the owner and developer of Tatu City—welcomed Emirates Logistics, highlighting the city’s conducive business environment.
“Tatu City offers a secure, infrastructure-ready environment with amenities including housing, retail, schools, and parks—perfect for global investors like Emirates Logistics,” he said.
Tatu City, Africa’s largest new city project, hosts over 100 businesses and 25,000 residents daily, with a thriving community of students and workers. Companies such as Heineken, Naivas, NCBA, and Davids & Shirtliff operate within the city.
Businesses establishing operations in the Tatu City SEZ benefit from attractive incentives, including a reduced corporate tax rate of 10% for the first decade, VAT zero-rating, and exemptions on import and stamp duties—making Kenya an increasingly appealing investment destination.
