Emmy Kosgei’s Father Eyes Baringo Senate Seat

Bishop Jackson Kosgei, the father of gospel singer Emmy Kosgei, has announced his candidacy for the Baringo Senatorial seat in the August 9 General Election.

Bishop Kosgei will run on a UDA Party ticket to succeed incumbent Baringo Senator and KANU Party leader Gideon Moi.

Emmy Kosgei, a gospel artist, turned to social media on Monday to rally support for her father, whom she characterized as a strong, visionary man.

In a lengthy social media post, Emmy who is married to Apostle Anselm Madubuko was full of praise urging voters to turn up and vote for the bishop. 

“Tell someone to tell some #VOTE #VOTE #NOMINATE #BISHOPJACKSONKOSGEI AS the #2ndSENETOR of #BARINGOCOUNTY and for the first time representing minority communities in Baringo. His candidature is good for representation in diverse county. let’s support /vote and keep him in prayer!”she said in a long Instagram post.

Bishop Jackson Kosgei previously served as chairman of the Kenya Film Classification Board.
