Energy CS Davis Chirchir Fires 5 EPRA Board Members

Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir revoked the appointments of five board members of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on Friday.

The CS announced in a Gazette Notice that George Mwakule, Moses Murengu Mutuli, Daniel Ndonye, Mercy Muthoni Wambugu, and Caroline Gathii would leave the board of the energy regulator effective immediately.

Chirchir has appointed four new members: Anthony Gachau Mbuthia, Diba Daudi, Abraham Kipruto, and Jennipher Nawoi Long’or.

“The five will be members of the Board of Directors of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from September 8, 2023,” read the notice in part.

It was not immediately clear when the CS would appoint the fifth member to fill the remaining vacant slot.
