Environment PS Ng’eno Meets Climateworks Foundation Ahead Of Africa Climate Change Summit

    Environment and Climate Change PS Eng Festus Ng’eno today met Ms Ruth Sego from Climateworks Foundation – California and Mr Evans Lagat from Trade and Economic Law Consultants.

    The PS and the visitors discussed opportunities for partnership in preparation for this year’s Africa Climate Change Summit and African Climate Week which will be hosted by Kenya in September.

    Eng Ng’eno said the Government is reviewing the National Climate Change Action Plan III with a view of revising Kenya’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) which stands at 32% reduction by 2030.

    On the Africa Climate Summit, PS Ng’eno said the forum will consolidate the continent’s voice ahead of COP28, especially on the issue of loss and damage.

    “Africa is not a polluter but is bearing the brunt of climate change effects from floods to prolonged drought,” PS Ng’eno observed.
