Tusker FC have officially confirmed the return of star striker Eric Kapaito, in what is being hailed as a major boost to their ambitions ahead of the 2025/26 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF-PL) season.
Kapaito, a two-time FKF-PL Golden Boot winner, rejoins the Ruaraka-based club after a short stint with Namungo FC in Tanzania. His return is expected to re-energize Tusker’s frontline and enhance their pursuit of both domestic and continental success.
The 27-year-old forward left Tusker at the end of the 2023/24 season after scoring 12 goals, playing a pivotal role in the team’s strong league performance. His sharp finishing and tactical intelligence had made him a fan favorite during his previous spell at the club.
Speaking during his unveiling at Ruaraka Grounds, a visibly enthusiastic Kapaito said, “Tusker FC is home, and I feel that I have returned to a place where I felt comfortable, happy, and loved. I have a deep connection with this club and the fans, and I’m hungry to help bring more trophies to this great team. I’m back, focused, and ready to give my all.”
Tusker head coach Charles Okere welcomed the striker’s comeback, emphasizing his importance to the squad’s balance and goalscoring strength. “Eric brings a lot to this team, goals, leadership, and a winning mentality. He knows our system, and his experience will be vital both on and off the pitch. Last season we struggled a bit in the second leg because we didn’t have enough firepower upfront, and his return gives us that cushion,” said Okere.
Kapaito becomes Tusker’s third signing of the transfer window, joining midfielder Vincent Otieno from Nairobi City Stars and defender Eugene Ikutwa from Bidco United.
With the FKF-PL set to kick off soon, Tusker’s bold moves in the transfer market, capped by Kapaito’s homecoming, underscore their determination to reclaim domestic supremacy and challenge on the continental front.
