The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has apprehended viral comedian-turned-reality star Eric Omondi for violating provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act. – By Gerald Gekara.
Eric was arrested alongside his actresses drawn from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in an operation that was staged by the Kenya Police liasing with KFCB’s Compliance Officers.
According to the KFCB, the Wife Material 2 show did not register for approval in line with the Films and Stage Plays Act Sec. 12(2) and 4(1).

The two have been embroiled in a push and pull on social media, during the first season of the show.
KFCB CEO labelled Eric Omondi’s studios a ‘brothel’ prompting further exchange over the same.
Dr. Mutua has been championing for the production of clean content, and the need for film companies to use legal means in their productions.
“Any artist producing content for public consumption in Kenya must ensure that they comply with the provisions of the Act.” the statement concluded.
