Erika Kirk Speaks Out After Husband Charlie Kirk’s Killing

By Faith Mwende

Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, spoke publicly for the first time on Thursday night following his killing in Utah on Wednesday.

She vowed to never let Charlie’s legacy die, saying his message will continue to be shared through his campus tour of U.S. universities and his podcast, though she did not specify how they would carry on.

To the killer, she said: “You have no idea the fire that you ignited within this wife, the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”

Erika thanked Kirk’s staff, Vice President JD Vance, and former President Donald Trump. Addressing Trump directly, she said: “You supported him so well, as did he for you.”

On their children, aged one and three, she said she was struggling with how to tell them about their father’s sudden death.

In a message to her late husband, she said: “I can’t wait to see you again one day.”

She concluded with a statement about his lasting impact:

“In a world filled with chaos, doubt and uncertainty, my husband’s voice will remain.”
