PC Jalaus Okoa the report office personnel reported that three suspects who were in the police cells had escaped. Scpc, Sccio, OCS together with other officers visited the scene at the station cells building and established that three suspects in cells namely
- Shadrack Leparan a Maasai male adult aged 29yrs suspect of murder vide Kilgoris police cr701/347/21.
- Enock Ndege a Kisii male adult aged 28yr suspect of stealing.
- Patrick Mausa a Kisii male adult aged 32 yrs had escaped by breaking cell wall.
The prisoners had created a hole in the brick wall by removing some bricks next to the door to the cells facing the report office and escaped into the nearby Kilgoris township. There were a total of five suspects in the same cells and the remaining two reported that they did not hear their colleagues escape.
The night duty officer no 224269, CPL Carlmax Okello did not notice the escape. Inquiry file number 1/2021 opened to that effect Sccio Transmara west dealing. The following officers no.224269, CPL Carmax Okelo, no 90198 PC Jalus Okoa, no 217965 PC Andrew Bett were placed in custody to be in court on Monday.
