The Former Kiambu County Governor Ferdinand Waititu alias Baba Yao has been sentenced to pay a fine of Ksh 53.5 million in default to serve 12 years in prison.
Consequently, his wife Susan who was too convicted has been ordered to pay a fine of Ksh 500,000 in default to serve 1 year in prison.
Engineer Luca Mwangi who was convicted of the abuse of office for improperly awarding the tender to testimony enterprises limited has been fined Ksh 21 million in default to serve 7 years in prison.
Charles Chege who was convicted alongside his wife Beth Wagechi Mburu for engaging in fraudulent practices in a procurement was fined a total of Ksh 297.5 million in default to serve 11 years in Prison.
His wife Beth Wagechi Mburu was fined Ksh 1.4 million in default to serve 3 years in prison.
Further, Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzioki issued an order barring convicts from holding any public office for a period of ten years.
The five were convicted alongside their companies for conflict of interest in a Ksh.588 million graft case.
The court acquitted them on three counts of money laundering.
