Ex-Uriri MP’s Son Found Dead with Stab Wounds in Migori

Detectives in Migori are investigating the brutal murder of Michael Odhiambo Omamba, the son of former Uriri Member of Parliament Haman Omamba. Michael, 30, was found dead on Wednesday morning, his body lying by the roadside approximately 20 meters from his house. Police confirmed that he had suffered a deep stab wound to the right side of his chest, pointing to a possible targeted attack.

Witnesses said Michael had been seen earlier that night at a local bar, in the company of a mutual friend. The motive for the killing remains unknown, but police ruled out robbery, noting that his mobile phone and wallet were found in his pockets. “We believe the killer had a specific mission,” said one of the officers at the scene.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy as investigations continue. The shocking incident has left the Omamba family in mourning and calling for justice. Michael was also the brother of North Kanyamkago MCA George Omamba, who urged authorities to carry out a thorough investigation and bring the culprits to book.

The tragedy comes as the family is still reeling from the recent loss of Suslia Omamba, the first wife of the late MP, who passed away on July 5. She is scheduled to be laid to rest on August 8.
