Explosions Rock Jerusalem and Tel Aviv as Israel and Iran Exchange Fire

Jerusalem – A night of intense cross-border fighting between Israel and Iran has left scores dead, with explosions shaking Tel Aviv and Jerusalem in one of the most direct military confrontations between the two nations in decades.

The escalation began late Friday after Israel launched coordinated strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and military bases.

According to Iranian officials, the attacks killed 78 people, including senior military commanders and six nuclear scientists, and wounded at least 320—“the overwhelming majority” of whom were civilians, Iran’s UN representative claimed.

In retaliation, Iran launched waves of ballistic missiles overnight, striking multiple areas inside Israel. Sirens wailed across cities as residents were urged to take shelter.

At least two Israelis have been confirmed dead, and dozens more injured, emergency services reported.

The scale and speed of the exchange have sparked deep concern from the international community, with diplomatic efforts intensifying to prevent further escalation in a region already simmering with tension.

This is a developing story.
