A fresh wave of violence has erupted in the Middle East as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a massive barrage of missiles targeting “dozens of military centers and airbases” across Israel.
The Iranian operation has been named “True Promise 3”, signalling a significant escalation in the ongoing confrontation.
Residents in central Israel and Jerusalem reported hearing multiple window-rattling booms, with unclear indications as to whether the sounds were from direct impacts or Israeli missile defense interceptions.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed ongoing attacks, stating that “the shooting continues” with “another barrage of dozens of rockets” launched toward Israeli territory.
In a translated statement, the IRGC claimed responsibility for the attacks, branding them as retaliation and part of its broader regional strategy.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded, affirming that “Operation Rising Lion” would persist until Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities were “completely neutralised”.
Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service confirmed that five people were injured in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, with one in moderate condition and four sustaining light shrapnel injuries. Emergency teams are currently combing seven strike locations in the Dan Bloc for further casualties.
Earlier, Israel intercepted nearly 100 drones, but tonight’s wave marks a much more intense escalation. The Israeli military has warned that the conflict could result in significant damage and extended military engagement.
With both sides doubling down, the situation remains highly volatile, with the potential for wider regional destabilisation.
Netanyahu warned the conflict “could go on for days,” underscoring the seriousness of Israel’s objective to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities.
