The family of Kenya’s woman of many firsts, Orie Rogo Manduli, paid heartfelt tributes at the All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.
Janice Rogo, the former politician’s youngest daughter described her mother as a “mighty lioness who anchored and loved me with every fiber of her being,”.
“I don’t know how I am going to make it tomorrow; my heart is broken, I want to gnash my teeth and haul from the depths of my being at the loss of the only woman I called mum.”
“My loss is irreparable, my world is dim; that protecting, comforting voice has been silenced. I am at a loss as to how I am going to spend the rest of my days. Goodbye, mum; it is not well, it would never be.”
Elizabeth Rogo, Manduli’s eldest daughter, was at the requiem mass after being discharged from the Nairobi Hospital on September 26.
Manduli, a well-known fashionista, and activist in the country will be recognized for her many firsts during her distinguished life.
On Saturday, the late Orie Rogo Manduli will be laid to rest at her property in Kitale’s Tondorie Estate in Trans Nzoia County.
Manduli died on September 15 at the age of 73 in her Riverside home in Nairobi.
