A fire broke out early Monday morning at Koiwa Boys High School in Konoin Sub County, causing significant damage to one of the school’s dormitories and displacing over 100 students.
According to the Department of Disaster Management, the incident occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and managed to contain the blaze before it could spread to other buildings within the school compound.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported during the incident. However, one dormitory was completely destroyed, resulting in the loss of personal belongings and school property. A total of 113 students have been affected and temporarily displaced as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the incident.
School officials and local authorities are working to provide immediate support to the affected students, including alternative accommodation and basic necessities. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
