Fire Razes Down Property Of Unknown Value In Pumwani Maternity Hospital

A fire broke out at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi on Friday morning, destroying property of unknown value.

According to the Nairobi County Government, the fire started around 3:30 a.m. at the commodity and pharmacy store.

The Nairobi City County fire and rescue services team, which arrived shortly after the incident, put out the fire.

The County Executive in charge of Health, Anastacia Nyalita, confirmed that no casualties were reported from the incident.

“The Nairobi City County fire and the rescue team responded in a record of 10 minutes and put out the fire. There were no casualties,” she said.

Ms Nyalita also stated that a team from Nairobi County Tin, in collaboration with the police, is assessing the damage while investigations into the cause of the fire continue.

Meanwhile, normal hospital operations resumed around 5 a.m.
